Located on the top of the machine, holds the bobbin while the thread is wound
Bobbin Winder
Switch on right side of the machine that turns the machine and light off and on
On/Off Switch
Lever on button that allows machine to stitch backwards
Reverse
Plastic covering that slides out or is removed to access the bobbin case
Slide Plate
A round disc where the bottom thread of the sewing machine is wound
Bobbin
Place at top of the machine that holds the thread spool
Spool Pin
Small, flat screw just above the needle that holds the needle in place
Needle Clamp
Part that holds the spool of thread on the spool pin
Spool Pin Cap
The area under the slide plate that holds the bobbin
Bobbin Case
Used to control the length and width of the stitches
Stitch Length and Width
Controls the speed at which the machine runs
Foot Pedal
The plate that covers the light and mechanical parts of the machine
Face Plate
Determines the tightness or looseness of the thread
Thread Tension
Holds fabric in place when lowered
Presser Foot
Guides the thread through the machine
Thread Guides
Makes the stitches
Needle
Feeds thread from spool to needle as it moves up and down
Take Up Lever
Feeds the fabric through the machine
Feed Dogs
Lever used to raise and lower the presser foot
Presser Foot Lifter
Button used to select the patter of stitches
Stitch Selection
Moving this makes the needle and take up lever move up and down
Hand Wheel
Located on the hand wheel that keeps the needle from moving
Clutch Knob
Plate under the needle that has a whole for needle to go through
