What is Tai Yang?
Most external of the Yang channels, opens to the exterior.
What happens at Tai Yang?
Warms & discharges exterior, protects from Cold. Opens & closes gaps.
Beginning of External pathway of SI
SI 1 at the inferior lateral corner of the pinkie fingernail.
Middle of external pathway of SI?
Up the ulnar side of the hand & forearm, zig zags medially across the superior border
ofscapula, around neck, to face.
Ending of external pathway of SI?
SI 17 in the depression between the middle of the tragus & the condyloid process of the
mandible.
What does the SI channel do with Qi?
Sent to face & head to normalize function of ears & eyes; distribute & regulate it along channel
pathway; strengthens body's surface defense
Other functions of the SI channel?
Regulate body fluids, function of the intestines & promote absorption of fluids & nutrients,
Qi of the lower Jiao.
