A way to protect intellectual property. Usually involved to protect inventions.
Intellectual Property

Fair Dealing
Fair dealing is a concept under copyright law that gives exclusions to copyright for certain
purposes.
Royalties
An amount paid to copyright owners for the sale or use of their unique works or other subject
matter.
Public Domain
Works free to use and do not require written permission from the author or creator.
Performer Rights
Performers rights comprise the legal rights of a performer or performers to be financially
compensated.
Trade Mark
A symbol that is used to identify and distinguish goods or services as belonging to a person or
organization.

Private copying refers to the electronic reproduction of existing recordings of music and
sounds and performances onto a recordable medium.
