Lab values for FVE
Concentrated makes numbers go up and dilute makes numbers go down.
FVD: Sodium, Hematocrit, Urine SG
Sodium: HIGH, hematocrit: HIGH, Urine SG: HIGH
Causes of FVE
HF, RF, IVF with Sodium
FVE s/s
BP increases, HR increases, edema, UO decreases, JVD, SOB
FVE Treatment
Bedrest=diuresis, I , daily weights, sodium restriction
FVD Causes
Loss of fluid from anywhere, third spacing (burns, ascites), polyuria
FVD s/s
weight loss, decreased skin turgor, dry membranes, decreased output, BP decreased, HR increased, R increased, CVP decreased, urine SG up
FVD Treatment
prevent further loss, replace fluids, monitor for overload, fall precautions
