anything that results (comes out of) a chemical reaction
Law of conservation of mass
matter is neither created or destoyed in a chemical reaction it only changes form
chemical equation
a representation of a chemical reaction using chemical symbols, chemical formulas and arrows
Indicator
a substance that indicates the presence of an acid or base (examples include: phenolthalein and PH paper)
replacement
a chemical reaction where one element replaces another element in a compound or where two elements in different compounds trade places.
Exothermic
a chemical reaction where heat it given off and feels hot
endothermic
a chemical reaction where heat is taken in and feels cold
Physical change
a change in matter that results in a change in form or appearance. No new substances are formed. (examples include phase changes)
