what is a Muscular system?
your skeletal mucles move you bones.
what is a Skeletal system?
your bones provide a frame to support and protect body parts.
What is Cardiovascular System.
your heart pumps blood throught all you blood vessels.
What is a vervous System?
A system to recieve and send electrical messages through out the body.
What is lyphatic system?
It returns leaked fluids to blood vessels. It also helps you get rid of germs that can harm you.
What is Digestive system?
breaks down the food you eat into nutrients that can be absorbed into your body
what is endocrine system?
glands regulate body functions by sending out chemical messengers. The ovaries, in females and testes, in males, are part of this system.
what is respiratory system?
youe lungs absorb oxygen and release carbon dioxide.
what is Urinary System?
it removes wasts from the blood and regulates the body fluids.
what is reproductive system (male)
produces and delivers sperm.
what is reproductive system (female)
produces eggs and nourishes and shelters the unborn baby
what is meiosis?
is the process by which these number of chromosomes is reduces by half to form sex cells--smerm and eggs.
what is the chromosome theory of inheritance?
you get have of your inheritance from your mom and half from your dad.
facts about genes, chromosomes, and proteins.
genes control the production of proteins in an organism's cells. PRoteins help determine the size, shape, and other traits of an organism.
what are the DNA molecules?
adenine, thymine, guanine, cytosine ( A to T) (G to C)
what is the genetic code?
It specifies what type of protein will be produced.
DNA
IT produces RNA, its tymine and cytosine and its stays inside the nuclaus
RNA
it is out side the nucleas, uriule and cytosine.
RNA and DNA
they are both Adnine and Guanine
messanger RNA
sends messages to the trandfer RNA
transfer RNA
they read the messenge by pairing up three-letter codes to base on the messenger RNA
what is the first step of protein synthesis?
DNA "unzips" to direct the production of strand of messenger RNA.
what is the last step of protein sythesis?
the protein chain grows longer as each transfer RNA molecile adds an amine acid
what is a mutation?
a cell to produce and incorrect protein during protein sythesis as a resild, the organism's train, or Phenotype, may be different...
how can mutations affect protein sythesis in cells?
it can calse the cell to use the incorrect protein. Sometimes is can be good or bad or have no effect what so ever
whether a mutatuons is harmful or helpful depends partly on an organism's
environment
mutations can be source of genetic
veriaty
facts about mutations..
some nutations occur when one nitrogen base is substituted for another. Some mutations occur when chromosomes dont separate correctly
substatation
AAG _T_CG TTA
deletion
AAG __CG TTA
Addition
AAG (TA)CG TTA
