Brain Defense: your flashcards as a tower defense game, now on Android

by Miles Corran · October 28, 2026

Our Tower Defense game started on braineos.com. It now has its own Android app: Brain Defense, free on Google Play.

How it plays

  1. Sign in with the same Google account you use on Braineos.
  2. Pick a deck: one of your own, or one from Discover.
  3. Answer questions from the deck to earn gold. Each correct answer in a row earns a little more.
  4. Spend the gold on towers and upgrades, then hold off the next wave.

There are three levels, each with its own map and 10 waves: The Straight Path, The U-Turn and The Spiral. Survive all 10 waves of a level with a deck to unlock the next one for that deck.

There are three towers to choose from: Basic, Sniper (long range, slow, hard-hitting) and Rapid (short range, fast). Enemies range from quick scouts to slow, heavily armoured tanks and a boss.

A question you get wrong comes back a few questions later, so the game keeps nudging you on what you don't know yet. The better you know a deck, the further you get.

Good to know

  • Free, with no ads and no purchases.
  • Your decks come with you. It uses your Braineos account, so every deck you have on braineos.com is there. You make and edit decks on braineos.com or in the Braineos app.
  • Any deck with at least 4 usable cards works. Multiple-choice cards are asked as they are. Flashcards become four-option questions, with the wrong answers taken from the deck's other cards.
  • Relaxed mode slows the action down so there's time to read each question.
  • Sound effects are off until you turn them on.
  • Your best wave for each deck and level is saved on your phone.

Brain Defense is Android only for now. On a computer, you can play the same game on braineos.com: open a deck and choose Play Tower Defense.
