Remix public decks to your level

by braineos · October 15, 2026

Search Braineos for almost any topic and there's probably a public deck on it already. That's a great starting point, but every deck is written for someone in particular: their course, their level, the bits they found hard.

Maybe the best deck on cell biology assumes you remember high-school chemistry, and you don't. Maybe the Spanish deck you found is all vocabulary, and what you need is verb endings. Maybe it's spot on, but 300 cards when you've got an exam on one chapter.

With the Braineos connector, Claude can read any public deck in full and use it as raw material for your own version, built for where you are.

Find something to start from

Search Braineos for decks on the Krebs cycle.

Claude searches public decks by name, description and tag, and shows you what it finds: names, descriptions, tags and card counts. Ask it to look inside the promising ones:

Read the top two and tell me which is more thorough.

Make your own version

Then say what you want:

Make me a beginner version of that deck. Assume I've forgotten most of my chemistry, and add a few cards on the background I'd need.

Claude reads every card in the original and writes a new deck in your account, pitched at the level you asked for. Some other directions you could take it:

  • Harder: "Make an advanced version that tests why each step happens, not just what it's called."
  • Narrower: "Make a 20-card deck covering just the chapter on enzymes."
  • Different format: "Turn it into multiple choice, with wrong answers people actually confuse."
  • Combined: "Merge the best cards from these three decks into one, without duplicates."
  • Translated: "Make a version with the definitions in Spanish, for revising in the language I'm learning."

Ask to see the cards before they're created if you want to adjust them first.

Your version is yours

The new deck belongs to you. You can study it, add to it and edit it however you like, including asking Claude to fix cards later. Like any new deck, it's public by default, so the next person searching might find your beginner version useful too. Premium accounts can make it private instead.

Claude can only edit decks you own. It reads other people's public decks but never changes them, so a remix never touches the original.

If you'd rather have an exact copy than a remix, the Copy this deck button on any public deck page does that, no Claude needed.

Prompts to try

  • "Search Braineos for decks on [topic] and summarise the three best."
  • "Read [deck name] and make me a version for complete beginners."
  • "Make a harder version of [deck name] that tests understanding, not just recall."
  • "Make a 15-card version of [deck name] with only the essentials."
  • "Combine these decks into one, with no duplicates."

A few things to know

  • You can create up to 10 new decks a day.
  • One request creates up to 50 cards; Claude adds the rest in batches for anything bigger.
  • Public decks vary in quality. If something in the original looks wrong, ask Claude to check it rather than copying it into your version.

Try it

Add the Braineos connector in Claude with this URL:

https://braineos.com/api/mcp

On claude.ai, go to Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste the URL and sign in to Braineos. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http braineos https://braineos.com/api/mcp, then /mcp to sign in. If you added the connector a while ago, reconnect it to pick up deck reading. Full details are on the Claude connector page.

Then find a deck that's almost right, and ask Claude to make it yours.
