Turn any conversation into a study deck

by braineos · October 14, 2026

A good conversation with Claude can teach you a lot. You ask about how vaccines train the immune system, or the causes of the French Revolution, or what a Bloom filter is. You follow up, it clicks, and you close the tab feeling like you get it.

A week later, most of it is gone. That's not a flaw in you. It's how memory works: things we don't revisit fade. Spaced repetition fixes that by bringing things back just before you'd forget them. Until now, getting from "great chat" to "flashcards I'll actually review" meant copying and pasting by hand.

The Braineos connector for Claude closes that gap. Claude can create decks in your Braineos account, quiz you on them right in the conversation, and record how you did, so your review schedule and streak stay up to date.

Step 1: Have the conversation you were going to have anyway

There's nothing special to do here. Learn the way you normally would. Ask questions, ask for examples, push back on the parts that don't make sense.

Step 2: Ask for a deck

When you're done, ask for it:

Make a Braineos deck from what we just covered. Keep each card to one idea.

Claude writes the cards from the conversation, so they cover what you found confusing, not a generic textbook outline. It picks a name, a short description and a few tags, and creates the deck in your account.

A few things you can ask for:

  • "Show me the cards before you create it." Review the list, cut what you already know, and ask for changes before anything is saved.
  • "Make some of them multiple choice." Braineos supports multiple-choice cards with a short explanation of the right answer. They're good for things you mix up with near neighbours.
  • "Pitch it at a beginner level" or "assume I know the basics". Claude already knows roughly where you are from the conversation. Telling it explicitly helps.

Decks are public by default, the same as decks made on the website, so other people can find and study them too. Premium accounts can ask for a private deck instead.

Step 3: Get quizzed, in the chat

Later that day, or tomorrow, ask:

What's due for review on Braineos? Quiz me.

Claude checks which of your cards are due, then asks them one at a time. You answer in your own words. You don't need to match the card's wording exactly: Claude judges whether you got the meaning, so "it stops the cell dividing" can count for "halts mitosis". When you miss one, it tells you the answer and why.

At the end, Claude records the results in Braineos. Cards you got right come back after a longer gap; the ones you missed come back sooner. The session counts toward your daily streak, just like studying on the website or the app.

Step 4: Keep going wherever you like

The deck is a normal Braineos deck. Study it on the website, on your phone, or keep getting quizzed in Claude. It's all the same deck and the same schedule, so it doesn't matter where you study.

When you learn more about the topic, ask Claude to add cards to the deck rather than starting a new one:

Add the three things we just discussed about T cells to my Immune system deck.

Prompts to try

  • "Turn this conversation into a Braineos deck of about 20 cards."
  • "Quiz me on my due Braineos cards, five at a time."
  • "Make a multiple-choice deck from this article I pasted, with an explanation on each card."
  • "Which of my Braineos decks have cards due today?"
  • "What's my Braineos streak?"

A couple of limits worth knowing

  • One request can create up to 50 cards. For a bigger deck, Claude adds the rest in batches.
  • You can create up to 10 new decks a day. For a topic you already have a deck on, adding to it is usually better anyway.
  • You'll need to have accepted the Terms of Use on the Braineos website before Claude can create a deck for you.
  • Claude can make mistakes. Skim new cards, especially on topics where precision matters.

Try it

Add the connector in Claude using this URL:

https://braineos.com/api/mcp

On claude.ai, go to Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste the URL and sign in to Braineos. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http braineos https://braineos.com/api/mcp, then /mcp to sign in. Full details are on the Claude connector page.

Then have a conversation worth remembering, and ask Claude to make it a deck.
