The secret of spaced repetition isn't long study sessions. It's short, regular ones. A few minutes a day on the cards that are due beats a three-hour cram, because each review lands just as you're starting to forget.
The hard part is the habit. If Claude is already where your day starts (planning, email, a first coffee and a question), your daily review can live there too.
The whole routine
Morning! What's due on Braineos today?
Claude checks your account and tells you which decks have cards due for review. Pick one, or let Claude pick:
Quiz me on whatever's most overdue. Keep it to ten cards.
Claude asks one card at a time. You answer in your own words, and Claude judges whether you've got the meaning rather than demanding the exact wording. Multiple-choice cards show their options, and any explanation appears after you answer.
When you're done, Claude records how you did. That does two things:
- Updates your schedule. Cards you got right come back after a longer gap. The ones you missed come back sooner.
- Counts toward your streak, exactly like studying on the website or the app.
Then, if you like:
What's my streak now?
Claude tells you your current streak, how many streak freezes you have left, and your points this week.
That's it. Two minutes, maybe five.
Make it fit your morning
A few ways to shape it:
- Short on time: "Just five cards today."
- One subject: "Only my Spanish decks this morning."
- Gentle start: "Start with ones I usually get right, then the hard ones."
- Hands-free-ish: "Read me each question, I'll type short answers."
- Catch-up day: "I missed yesterday. What's piled up? Let's do the oldest first."
Because Braineos keeps the schedule, it doesn't matter if you review with Claude one day, on your phone the next and on the website after that. It's the same cards and the same schedule wherever you study.
Making it automatic
If your Claude setup lets you save a prompt you reuse every day, or run tasks on a schedule, the routine above is a good one to save. Something like:
Check what's due on Braineos, quiz me on up to ten cards from the most overdue deck, record the results, and tell me my streak.
What's available depends on which Claude app and plan you use, so check Claude's own help for saved prompts and scheduling.
Why it works
Most review apps lose people at the "open the app" step, not at the studying. Putting the review where you already are removes that step. And because Claude can explain a card when you miss it, a wrong answer turns into a short lesson instead of just a red X.
Try it
Add the Braineos connector in Claude with this URL:
https://braineos.com/api/mcp
On claude.ai, go to Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste the URL and sign in to Braineos. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http braineos https://braineos.com/api/mcp, then /mcp to sign in. Full details are on the Claude connector page.
